1913
Leigh Spinners was originally set up as a cotton spinning mill just before the First World War, in 1913 and we have a strong history of tradition and workmanship behind us.
1967
We began manufacturing carpets in 1967 and in the late 1980s, invested in a non-Woven plant allowing us to produce fibre bonded carpets suitable for the commercial sector.
1990
Throughout the 1990s, we developed our portfolio to include play surfaces', bowls, tennis and Multi Use Gaming Areas, allowing us to move forward as the industry did.
2009
We began production of Synthetic Turf products suitable for Landscape, Leisure and Sport, keeping up with ever changing industry standards as we have always strived to do.

We are now widely considered not only as a leading UK manufacturer of synthetic turfs and non-woven sports surfaces, but also as a highly regarded manufacturer of quality, heavy contract fibre bonded carpet, carpet tiles and entrance matting, which is testimony to our 35+ years’ experience in this particular field with our trusted brand.
As a manufacturer, we deal deal in full rolls of artificial lawn turfs and carpets but our synthetic sports surfaces division treats each project on it's own merit and pitches and courts are produced to specific roll plans.

Most companies we work with are based in the UK, and it’s no different for Abingdon Flooring, who have facilities across Great Britain.
The company has been involved in the carpet industry for decades and started out as a family business. For over 30 years, they were part of Carpets International, later merging with Victoria PLC, the UK’s largest carpet manufacturer.

When specific products are needed to suit specific uses, as oppose to a usual carpet range, we are often asked if we can manufacture such solutions and Anglo Recycling are one of those companies who commissioned us to manufacture and supply a specialist carpet, Quattro. As long as the quantities are there for us as a manufacturer, we can, in most cases, manufacture what a company needs within our sector.
